Notes: Printed stamp on reverse of card: “S. Anderson, Photographer, No. 61 Camp St., New Orleans.” Born in Pennsylvania, Anderson began his career as a daguerreian in New Orleans in the late 1840’s. He operated studios in New Orleans and, at various times, in Houston and Galveston, Texas. The New Orleans gallery was located at the Camp Street address beginning in 1859.
